The big idea
Whether you play tennis or not, this is a weekend you'd want to be at.
Tennis is the anchor and main event, but there's so much more to the show. It's built around the sport, but it's an experience: music, food, atmosphere and a reason to travel.
Someone who's never picked up a racquet should have just as much fun as someone competing in the final.
The opportunity
This side of the south has 29 tennis clubs, from long-established names like Port Harcourt Club and Aba Sports Club to newer staff and community clubs. No one has turned that into a destination event yet. There's a gap between a club tournament and a festival that nothing currently fills.
At Wimbledon, visitors without a show-court seat watch on a giant screen from a grassy bank, picnic included. It's now one of the tournament's best-known spots. PH Open builds that idea in from the start, with a lot more to do around the courts.
By dayOpen to watch from courtside or the screen zone, with side sport and entertainment activities going on around it.
By nightWith food and drink built into the site itself. Laid-back and fun, for players and non-players alike.
